Ngapali Beach
Once there was a home sick Italian who said the beach looked like the Naple beach in Italy assuming to hae descended from the word "Naple". Ngapali Beach, the most beautiful beach in Myanmar, is located in Rakhine State facing the Bay of Bengal.
With the silver white sand, blue sea and perfect sun, this beach fast becomes a magnet to all beachlovers. It is easily accessible by flight which takes about 45 minutes from Yangon.
The resort is 6.5 km west of Thandwe extending over three kilometers replete with white soft sand and covered with coconut palm trees in the background. Along this unspoiled beach, one can enjoy strolling, sun-bathing, photographing and so on.
Apart from that, excursions like visiting the small fishing villages and local markets; exploring the countryside by bicycle and boat trips to the offshore islands can be experienced in Ngapali. Close to the beach is a 18-hole Golf Course to fulfill the taste of beach golfers.
Ngwe Saung Beach
Quiet and sleepy, Ngwe Saung is a beach resort in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady Region. With a calm and peaceful beach and none of the mass tourism development that's easy to find on Southeast Asia's other beach resorts, Ngwe Saung is a great place to relax and unwind.
Located around five hours from Yangon by bus. Ngwe Saung Beach is Myanmar's easiest beach resorts to access. Aside from a small selection of upmarket resorts and local village, Ngwe Saung is largely undeveloped and less crowded than other Southeast Asian beaches.
At over 13 miles long, Ngwe Saung Beach is a huge expanse of sand ideal for sunbathing and relaxing with a good book. "Discovered" in 2011 after Myanmar opened up to foreign tourism, Ngwe Saung is poised to become one of the country's top resort destinations.
Chaung Tha
Chaung Tha is Myanmar's enjoyable beach located 40km far away from the west of Pathein of Ayeyarwady Region and it's a really convenient drive from Yangon to Chaung Tha carrying about 5 hours, where many single, young folks from Yangon head to for vacations and fun. Even on weekends, many do the 5 hour trip each way for a single overnight of rest, eating and flirting fish from the beach.
The beach is not as beautiful as Ngapali or Ngwe Saung beaches. But, it is worth to see Myanmar relaxing and enjoying their own style on the beach.
It's white sand and the blue crystal water the tourists to take beach leisure. The main attraction is a small pagoda build on limestone boulder in the southern end of the beach. The is more affordable than Ngwe Saung and Ngapali beach, and it is mostly crowded with local visitors at weekend and during Myanmar Water Festival (Thingyan) and the conclusion of the Myanmar school summer vacations in May.
